Engineering Design Technologies, Inc. (EDT) was tasked with performing the installation of AC mitigation systemsat five sites along a 16” gas transmission line. EDTs’ experienced staff installed the AC mitigation system which included: the grounding system, Solid-State Decouplers (SSD) and grounding mats according to project specifications. After the installation, EDT recorded the final location of the mitigation system and the pipeline by GPS surveying (with sub-foot accuracy). The GPS survey entailed collecting the coordinates of the pipeline and AC mitigation components. These coordinates were sent to the EDT office where they were converted into CAD drawings.
