Xylem Inc. contracted Engineering Design Technologies, Inc. (EDT) to assist their GIS team with various tasks. EDT performed post-processing for GPS points using Trimble’s Pathfinder Office software and uploaded, edited and maintained those points in their database for field crews, project managers and analysts to reference and analyze. EDT assisted with the groundwork of building data tables using pipe laying schedules, record drawings and updated them based on changes indicated by Xylem’s inspection results. Other tasks included creating maps for final project reports, processing other types of field data, updating data tables with elevation data collected by EDT and performed QA/QC on GIS deliverables for various project types. Over the course of this contract, our GIS team has effectively communicated with Xylem’s GIS Manager and provided detailed weekly reports detailing tasks completed and time spent.
