EDT Receives LEED® Silver Certification -  Green Building Certification

ATLANTA -- EDT announces today that the Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle and Runway project in Camp Mackall, North Carolina has been certified LEED® Silver.

EDT was the design engineer of record on this Design-Build Operations and Maintenance Hangar for the Department of Defense. The factory was designed according to the Department of Defense Minimum Antiterrorism for Building Standards and met the Sustainable Design and Development and Energy Policy Act of 2005.

“LEED is a transformative tool that ensures a building is designed and operating to achieve high performance in key areas of human and environmental health while enhancing the triple bottom line - people, planet and profit,” said Mahesh Ramanujam, president and CEO, USGBC. “By prioritizing sustainability, EDT’s project is leading the way in their industry and helping USGBC continue toward our vision of a sustainable built environment within a generation.”

EDT achieved LEED certification for implementing practical and measurable strategies and solutions aimed at achieving high performance in: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.
