Engineering Design Technologies, Inc. (EDT) provided construction, engineering and inspection (CEI) for the Morris Avenue Streetscape. Included in the scope of work were ALDOT quantity verification and approval, material testing, storm water inspections, surveying and various other inspections as required by ALDOT. This project has enhanced the appearances and promotes pedestrian movement to surrounding amenities. Within the project area of Morris Avenue from 16th Street North to 19th Street North a new Birmingham Intermodal Facility was constructed. This three-block facility now houses the Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA), MAX and DART station, Greyhound and Amtrak Stations. The enhanced pedestrian lighting, sidewalks and landscaping now benefit the pedestrians of our city who are utilizing the various modes of transportation offered at the Intermodal Facility.
