NACE Certified CP-2 corrosion technicians performed corrosion field survey for structural members of Building 1 and Building 3 along North Wolfe Street for the Baltimore Food Hub, through the direction of Albrecht Engineering. The work involved the inspection of steel girders that span the width of Building 1 supporting the steel beams that were partially encased in the concrete slab and interior steel columns that support he steel beams in Building 3. The testing focused on the condition of the exposed steel framing due to visible corrosion.
Upon completion of testing and data analysis, a report was generated and delivered containing methods, findings and recommendations for corrosion mitigation. The results aided the Client in its determination of the amount of steel sections which had been reduced due to corrosion.
