Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
· 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation such as Civil Engineer, Project Engineer, or Water Engineer.
· Requires Maryland Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and oversee civil engineering and construction projects for various clients, applying knowledge of general civil engineering design techniques and principles on both public and private water and wastewater projects.
- Responsible for project scoping, budgeting and scheduling, project design, and client communication.
- Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects.
- Perform calculations and analysis including site layout, hydraulic modeling, grading, earthwork analysis, water pipe profiles, storm sewer system, utility infrastructure design, as well as erosion and sediment control.
- Calculate cost and determine feasibility of projects based on analysis of collected data, using computer-assisted engineering and design software including AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Prepare and modify project reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs as required, and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, construction and safety standards.
